I Am Still Scared of the Dark
by Anonymous

When I was a child, I suffered a case of insomnia at the young age of 7 and continued until I was 12 or 13. I am 18 now, and though I try to get over my childish fears, nothing can help me confront my fears with this evil being. When I had my bouts of insomnia, I would lay awake at night doing anything I could to go back to sleep.

One night scared me until this day. I still believe he lingers over me, as If I am constantly being watched by evil. I was lying in bed one night, and I opened my eyes for a quick moment, and he was hovering over me, kind of in a black mist with terrible claw-like hands and two blank spaces in the black mist for eyes and a terrible grin. I screamed. This went on for a while, and the only time I could get to sleep when I had a lamp on, night lights could never do, because the room would still be too dark for me.

I still have the fear that he will see me at my most intimate moments, but I have never slept without a light on after that. I just wish the war between heaven and hell were over, and earth could become a paradise again. I won't be normal again.
