Ghost in the
Mirror
by Michelle C.
When I was about 7 years old, my bed was in front of a long mirror on the wall. I would lay in bed at night and watch myself as a child would do and do funny little things to entertain myself while waiting to fall asleep. On the other side of my bed was a chair that I could clearly see in the mirror. One day my little best friend's grandmother was visiting her when I was at her house. She was very quiet and just sat in the living room chair and stared at me.
That night as I was laying in my bed making my little faces to pass the time until I was sleepy enough to fall asleep, I looked at the chair through the mirror - and there was my friend's grandmother sitting in the chair looking right at me and smiling at me! It seemed she was enjoying the faces I was making in the mirror. I sat up quick and turned to look at the chair and I could still see her. She had on a dark navy blue tiny polka dot dress with an eyelet bibbing around the collar, the same dress she was wearing in the afternoon. The point was, she was still there and I could see her when I turned around.
I screamed and ran downstairs to my dashing to rescue me panic stricken mom and dad and they were frantically asking me what was wrong. My dad heard me say someone was in my room and he dashed upstairs with the quickness of a flash. I told my mom that it was my friends grandmother in my chair looking at me. Of course, my dad came down with not seeing anything and my mom told him what I said. They sat looking at me and very very concerned.
At that moment, the phone rang. It was my aunt who lived next door to my friend. She called to tell my parents that my friend's grandmother just died a few moments ago in the chair in their living room where she was sitting that afternoon. My parents were freaked out. They did not tell me who was on the phone or what they were told until I was an adult. I, of course, knew she had died the next day when my friend told me. Ever since then I have been able to sense things wrong and sort of premonitions of possible danger or evil lurking around and have never been able shake these GIFTS I see to have.
As I am writing this a voice right above my head just said "Thank you" to me.
