Grandma's UFO Encounter
by Kitty

My grandmother is 75 years old, still kickin' (she can out do me and I'm 20), and is "all there" mentally. She told me this story years ago and I feel like I should share.

She lived in southern Mississippi her whole life until she moved here in Alabama a few years ago. During the 1940s, her father had a restaurant of some sort. She and he would walk down old country back roads early in the mornings before the sun would rise to go and start cooking breakfast for the working men that would normally come there before going to work (they had to walk because no one could afford a car then).

One morning, while walking to the cafe they owned, a huge light came out of no where and shown down on both of them. There were no motor sounds, no aircraft that they could see or hear and it appeared out of nowhere. She said that it shown down on both her and her father, it was very bright and they couldn't look up at it. She said that they stood still, like they didn't want to walk away from it or they couldn't. After a minute or so, it disappeared and "flew" off as fast as it shown down on them. It didn't "fly," as I put it, but more of "zoomed away" or just... disappeared in a strange way, she said.

On her father's death bed, he called for her and asked her if she remembered what happened to them that night, and of course she said yes, she'd never forget it. He asked her what that was, and she said that she still didn't know. He said that he didn't know either, but that he wanted her to remember it. She still talks about it every once in a while... and still doesn't know what it was or what it could have been.
