Deathbed
Visions
by Helldav
On April 6, 2002 my husband, James, underwent a triple bypass on his heart. We were told the week before that he also was in renal failure and he would be on dialysis within the month. He contacted a staph infection while hospitalized. We lived about 45 miles from the hospital he was in. I had went home one morning to get clean clothes leaving him alone. When I returned later that day, he was sitting up in his bed. I asked him how his day went and was he in any pain? He said no, but he had something to tell me. He told me he had been dozing and had a muscle spasm that jerked him awake. He look beside his bed and there stood his mother and father. Both had passed away years before. He stated that they were not old, but young as they were when he was a child growing up. They had concern on their faces and she had her arm locked in his father's arm. His father smiled at him and she had tears in her eyes. He didn't know how long they stood there, but they just disappeared when he blinked. I told him that I believed him and I thought that they were there to check on him and to let him know it wasn't his time to go yet.
Later that year, his brother Wayne told a similar experience he had when he had his bypass at the same hospital. He stated they didn't say anything to him either and that they were young also.
Later, as my husband's health had gotten worse, he started seeing angels hovering above. He saw these angels every day. I thought that he only saw them when he was in the hospital, but he told me he saw them at home also. I had to put him in a hospice residence the last week he was alive. We were keeping him heavily medicated with pain medicine due to all the pain he had. I would look over at him and he would be staring at the corner of the room, watching something. I would take my hand and put it in his line of vision. Whatever he saw, he started tracking with his eyes. I did this on several occasions. I know he was looking at something that I could not see. This happened everyday for a week.
I know he was seeing something on the other side. Something wondrous that we couldn't see. I believe either his mother and father came to take him or it was the angels he saw for 2½ years. When he finally slipped away, he had the most peaceful look on his face. His face was not drawn from pain. I know my husband saw something, and I believe he saw everything he described.
