NDE at the Beach
by Sandra

It was a very hot day in the mountains of Virginia in the summer of 1960. My cousins and I were going to a local state park with our mothers. Our mothers had told us not to go into the water until they were there. So being the children we were, we did not wait. I remember running down to the beach to the water and realizing how cold the water was and how hot the sun had made me.

All of a sudden, I looked up and saw black circles above my head. I had no idea what was going on and at that point I really didn't care. I was so relaxed and not frightened in the least. Then everything went blank I did not remember seeing anything at all. The next thing I remember is being in a space that was very unusual to me. I saw a very bright light, and being 12 years old I was not really upset, just interested in what and where I was.

All of a sudden, I was talking with my grandfather, who had passed away when I was five years old. He told me, "I didn't think you were supposed to be here yet." I asked where I was and he said nothing. As I looked around, I saw wonderful things -- happy people and comfortable people in all periods of dress. There was no hostility, only happiness. I thought to myself, this is where I want to be!

Then my grandfather was talking again and telling me how I was growing up to be a big girl and he was proud of me. He then told me he wanted me to meet someone, and from behind him my grandmother appeared. She had died when I was 18 months old, so I didn't have a vivid memory of her. I was so excited to see her -- she was beautiful. She had long black hair, vivid eyes and a wonderful smile. She hugged me and told me that she had been watching me grow up.

After my grandfather hugged me, a LARGE hand came from a cloud and pointed downward. The hand had imprints of holes in the center of His palm and I felt so warm and wonderful, but I didn't want to leave! The next thing I remember was being in a hospital bed and someone was trying to give me a shot. I told them, "Give it to my mother. She needs it more than I do!" I wanted to go back to where I had been. Needless to say, I was given the shot and I am here today to share my wonderful experience with you.

I feel that I was blessed to have experienced such an occurrence and have ministered to my patients with the calmness that only one can give that has experienced such a marvelous happening. Not a day goes by that I don't think of my grandparents and the wonderful insight that I was fortunate to receive.
