Blackpool Beach Mystery

My boyfriend and I were walking along the pebbled beach in Blackpool at one in the morning when we came across the strangest thing we have ever seen. When we walked over a certain part of the pebbles, an electric blue light shot through the pebbles and through the sand. It was the bluest light I have ever seen. We continued to walk further up the beach, but it did not happen anywhere else, just in the part near where Simon lives in Thornton Cleveleys. We walked back to where it had happened and it happened again in the same part. I have looked on hundreds of websites but still I find no explanation for this. Do you know what caused this? I would love to know.
