Your True Tales

Jogging Ghost
by Leslie Burns
This story took place at my father's house in Arizona in June of 1992. First of all, I come from a very religious family. Growing up, I remembered that strange things were going in our house. My brother was using a ouija board all the time. I never really tried to play with it, or even ask anything about it. To tell you the truth, they scared me. I had just graduated high school and was expecting my first child, my son. Everyday, my family and I would sit down to eat dinner, so we all had our very own seating.
I was taking a bite when something really bright caught my eye. In the hallway, there was and old white man, who was, or seemed to be, jogging toward my brother's room. He had on a pair of those old short jogging shorts people used to wear in the eighties. He had no shirt, but he was wearing sweat bands around his head and wrists. It happened really fast, but I saw him so clearly.
Right then I screamed and tried not to choke on my food. My dad asked what the heck was wrong with me. When I tried to explain it, everyone was looking at me as if I was crazy - all but my brother! Trying to comprehend what was just happening was very hard for me, just to tell them what I saw was impossible. Plain and simple, I was a nut!
Well, I didn't care who believed me. I was packing my bags to get the heck out of there. When my brother came to help me pack, and to try to calm me down, I noticed that he wasn't at all afraid or did he ever say, "Are you sure you saw what you think you saw?" Instead, he sat next to me and told me that the person I had just seen in the hallway was "Hank." He went on to tell me that in the late '80s Hank was on his usual morning jog when he was hit by a car, which threw him into a ravine, where, needless to say, he was not found until six days later. They never found out who actually hit him and left him there to die, but until that day comes he is left on this world to relive his death.
You're probably wondering how my brother knew all this? The ouija board! To this day, nobody has seen Hank again, but one thing I do know is, ever since then, weird things have happened or have been seen, but that is a whole other story!
