Trailer Poltergeist
by Drew
We lived in a trailer in about 1975. My wife, daughter and myself lived in a small two-bedroom mobile home. My daughter began to say she was hearing voices in her room at night. As I investigated, I thought I could hear muffled cries coming from the walls of this tiny room. I thought maybe it was some freak wiring problem in the walls because there were many problems with these trailers at that time.
Over the next few days, the voices became louder and louder. They seemed to be tortured, demonic shrieks and chants. The room temperature would drop in the heat of mid-afternoon to the point we could see our breath. It was over 90 degrees outside and the rest of the home was warm.
One afternoon we heard strange knocking -- it sounded as though someone was pounding against the walls. As we opened the door, the cold overwhelmed us. It was snowing from nowhere. The voices were at a fever pitch and the bed was floating upward, slamming into the walls and ceiling. The bed was moving as though it was in a violent earthquake. We were overwhelmed and terrified. But who would believe such a thing? We closed the door to the room and tried to avoid going in there for some time while we figured out what to do.
Within a few days, my daughter was playing with matches and burned the trailer to the ground... solving the problem.
