My Angel of Light
by Jessica

When I was a little girl, probably no more than six or seven, I saw something I would never forget. I was lying in the backseat of our car, and my mom was driving me home from my grandparents' house. The sun was barely rising, trying to struggle through the clouds left by a storm. I was very tired, but what happened next definitely woke me up. I was looking out the back window up into the sky when I saw something moving. I could see it looked like a person, a very beautiful person. I saw its long, white gown, and it had very long hair. The sky was cloudy, but one shaft of light from the sun was shining on this being so that it appeared to glow. It looked like it was walking across a cloud. I sat up normally in the backseat and looked harder. It was still there! Then I could swear it turned its head and looked down on me. I could barely see its face because the sun became very bright at that time. It had a very peaceful and loving expression on its face. For some reason, I became very scared and I tried to tell my mom about what I saw. But what parent listens to the ramblings of a child who is talking about someone walking in the sky? By the time we got home the being had disappeared, but it never disappeared from my memory. In the 15 years since it has happened, I have not told anyone (except for my mother, and she didn't believe me) about it. I have no doubt in my mind that it was my guardian angel looking down on me.
