My son passed away 10 years ago this May. It was the most devastating thing for me because I was so very close to him. He was five years old when he died. I have always believed in ghosts and paranormal happenings, and I wanted so desperately for my son to contact me. Friends would tell me that the more I wanted it to happen the less likely it would be to occur or that my son felt that I wasn't ready for him to contact me because it would be so very painful.
About a year after my son died, I had another baby, a boy, who is now eight years old. About a week after he was born, I was lying down on the couch because he had been up two or three times that night and I was exhausted. I do admit to having taken some pain medication as I had delivered him naturally but I had to have a large episiotomy in order to accommodate him. I was aware of my now-14 year old son watching "The Gummi Bears" on the Disney Channel, and as I was lying there I felt the hand of a child slip into my hand and squeeze it as if to say, "Hi, Mom. I like my new brother and I love you." And then it was gone. I've never had any contact since.
