Hooded Men

When I was about 17 I had a really creepy experience. I thought at the time to be a dream. My bedroom was separated from our living room by a folding door. At night, if I shut the door, at some point my cat would hook his paw around the bottom and pull the door partially open. At the time, the headboard of my bed was against the wall opposite the door. Sleeping one night, I was suddenly aware of many small figures in my living room. I could see through my door that there were about 10 to 20 of them, all about three feet tall, and wearing dark brown or black hooded robes. Their hoods were pulled up, covering their faces. In my dream-like state, I reached over to my nightstand and grabbed what seemed to me to be a gun and pointed it at them. I came to my senses a few minutes later by a strange beeping sound. I found myself sitting up in bed, phone receiver in hand, pointing it like a gun toward the door. The phone was beeping due to being off the hook. 

A few years later, I saw the abduction movie Communion starring Christopher Walken. In it, there are little "doctor" aliens that are about three feet tall and wear brown hooded robes. Needless to say, I was freaked! I explained the "dream" to my then-girlfriend. Laughing, she dismissed it as "only a dream." Still, I can't help wondering what happened that night. Luckily, the phone/gun must have worked; I haven't had any unusual experiences like that since.
