Voice at
the Door

I am writing to you from Athens, Greece. I spend a lot of time reading your articles and stories and I thought I should share something of mine.
We have a house in Santorini, in the Oia village. It's a new house, 5-6 years old, but where it is, it used to be an older house which we inherited and rebuilt. It was last summer that I was on vacation with my girlfriend. At 21:00 I thought I could take a shower before going out for night life. The house is a two-floor house with interior ladder. My girlfriend was at the first floor, where the bedroom is, and I was on the second floor where the toilet is.
So there I was, and for a moment a thought cross my mind: "Imagine the lights go out, and you will be visited by some ghost. What would I do?" That same moment, the lights went out! I tried to be calm. I moved slowly out of the shower and grabbed a towel. I moved to the door and sensed that something was behind the door. Some presence. I wanted to make sure that it was not my girlfriend, so I yelled to her by her name. She replied to me that she was coming, but she was still in the bedroom. I tried to open the door, which I forgot was locked, and I heard a voice of grand lady, probably at the age of 70, saying to me: "Come... Come"...
At this point I was very frightened and called again for my girlfriend to be sure that she wasn't joking me. Indeed, she replied again that she was in the bedroom! So, I finally unlocked the door and the moment I opened the door, the lights came back! Unbelievable!
