Night Attack
by Brendam Davies

I live with my parents and little sister in a small rural town near windsor about an hour from Sydney, Australia. Living in my house (being a old house) since I was five I've noticed some strange occurrences that would point to paranormal or spiritual entities sort of messing with the house as if it was their own. Most of the things I've noticed are small and can be brushed aside as strange, but nothing to worry about. Things like light switches always change on or off when people are not in the room or curtains being opened or closed without any explanation. All of these are usually heard by my family, but as I said just brushed aside.

We have a double garage adjoined to the end of the house with a long hallway leading to it. When I was about 14 years old, I used to hear clunks and whispers, but when I looked into the garage everything was how it should of been. I assumed it was the old freezer and paid no attention to it.

At 17 years of age, being a rebellious youth, I renovated the garage and moved in so that I would have more space privacy and I would be further away from my parents, but found I had trouble sleeping. I would get anxious and scared for no reason after nightfall and used to believe that there was always someone watching me. Often out of nowhere, I would feel extremely cold and start to get so overly scared to the point where I would shake uncontrollably. I told my parents everything and they asked me to move back to my old room, but being very stubborn, I refused. About two months after I moved in, I returned from a large party at about 3 a.m. (I'd like to point out that I was not chemically altered in any way shape or form - designated driver). I entered my room to find it trashed from floor to roof, every poster and every possession of mine was on the floor and thrown around often to the other side of the room to where it was originally. Posters were ripped off the walls and my bed was overturned. I immediately presumed that my room was broken into, which was odd because my entire family was home and had a lock on my door to which I had the only key and also locks on all my windows. Also, none of my possessions were taken just destroyed or damaged.

About three weeks after, I would wake up sweating after nightmares about what happened that night and I could swear someone was watching me. One night I woke to see a silhouette of a man in the opposite corner of my room from my bed. I couldn't move and couldn't take my eyes of the silhouette. It was clear to me that a man was squatting near my door looking at me, just staring. He looked rather stocky and to be a tall man though I couldn't properly tell. He squatted down with his legs open with one fist between his legs supporting himself. I stared for what seemed minutes, but I guess it would of been about 10 seconds though before I turned on my light and he was gone. It scared the daylights out of me.

I moved out of my room for about three weeks before moving back in and slept with my light on. One night I felt more scared than ever before and should of left the room there and then, but I didn't and I finally managed to get to sleep. I woke in the middle of the night with the man on top of me, sitting on me with his legs either side of me. My light had been turned off and I could feel him holding me by the neck with his left hand and with his right hand raised. I was terrified. I couldn't move because he felt so heavy, even for a big man, he felt overly heavy. I couldn't breathe and he held me down firmly, his hands were so cold and strong. When I tried to move backward, he held me down with his other hand. There were no words for how scared I was. I lost control of my bladder right there and I honestly couldn't think; I was absolutely helpless. I continued to choke and the more I struggled, the tighter he held my neck. I was about to pass out and I saw his face for a second when he threw his head back.

I tried to push him away by his chest, but I couldn't move him. I was so weak. As a last effort, with my free hand I threw a weak and small punch, which should have hit the side of his face, but when I did he wasn't there. My fist hit only the air. I struggled for air and just looked around for anything, but he was gone. When I caught my breath, I just started screaming so loudly.

I ran out my door and my dad was in the hallway and I couldn't tell him anything; I was just crying. He sat me down and I just cried. I told him what happened and he told me to move out of the room and that I was having a bad dream. I didn't sleep that night or the next, but developed a large bruise on one side of my neck and I almost never bruise. I'm sure that my presence angered him and I'm now sure that there is life after death. I'm now 19 and I don't live in the room, although it's now used as a TV room. I've seen the man once since, which was scary and I'll never enter the room or the hallway again.

That night will stay with me forever, I'll never be able to erase that memory from my mind.
