Strange Footprint
by Shahin Hossain

I have heard many ghost (Jin) stories while I was growing up, but never did I believe such stories to a point where it affected my personal day-to-day life. For many years, I have been hearing knocks on my windows (not to mention that I have three windows in my room), weird unexplainable noises, door bells in the middle of the night and no one there actually ringing the bell, etc. I was never scared or frightened, and I went on about my business.

Recently, I have been hearing not only knocks on my windows (trust me, there are no tree branches moving in the wind and knocking my windows), but something else has happened that changed me as a person. On February 12, 2007, I was very tired from work, so I went home (Fairfax, VA, USA) and took a nap. When I woke up around 9 p.m., I found myself to be alone at home. Still a little sleepy, I decided to turn on my desktop computer and surf the web, and perhaps chat with a few people online. When my system booted into Windows, the electricity shut off in my entire house. I believe my house was the only house without electricity. Few seconds later, it came back on, so I started my computer again. Then I started playing music on my computer as loud as I can possibly play it. Minutes later, I heard the volume on my speakers slowly decreasing. I looked at the volume status bar and saw it kept decreasing until it was at about 10 percent. I thought nothing of it, and went about business doing laundry in the basement then showered upstairs, and etc.

Just a day after that it had snowed here roughly 4-5 inches and then turned into solid ice by the following day. The rock solid ice sat on my roof of my brother's car for a few days (the car hasn't been driven for over a week, as he is out of the country). Friday of that week, I came home from work, parked my car next to his in our private drive way, and got out of my car to find one large footprint on the roof of his car. The footprint was probably a size 15 or 16. I thought nothing of it and went inside the house for the rest of the day.

A friend of mine showed up around 10:30 p.m. that night, who I decided to go in the basement with and chat about work and life in general, and smoke a cigarette. Around 12:50 a.m., (yes we're night owls), we both heard a knock on the basement door. Our basement door is in the backyard and underground and no one is crazy enough to climb down the stairs that late at night in the dark to knock on a door then disappear in seconds. It's not possible!

Saturday morning, I woke up and got ready to go to work. I left my house and before getting back in the car, I decided to closely inspect the footprint. Sure enough it was a footprint with toe prints as well. I did not, however, count the number of toes. Few days before the footprint appeared on the car, the snow had turned into rock solid ice. It's physically impossible for a human to leave one single footprint on the roof of a car in rock solid ice! I have thought of this in many different ways and have come up with many different scenarios, but nothing makes logical sense to me. It is physically impossible for a human being to accomplish such task. When I start putting two and two together, I know that there must be something else out there. Why else would people experience things that are unexplainable and has no logical explanations?
