Who Called My Name?

A strange thing happened at my house. My sister and I were at home watching TV when I heard my mom call, "Richie" from upstairs. I went to the stairway and yelled up the stairs," Yeah, mom?" She then said, "Come up here." So, I went upstairs. As I got up there and went into her bedroom, she wasn't there. My dog was just lying on my parents bed looking at me. I checked all of the upstairs yelling for my mom, but she wasn't there. I went back downstairs thinking that I was just hearing things. I came back downstairs and my sister asked me, "What did mom want?" I told her I didn't know, that she wasn't there. Then as I was looking at her on the couch, I happened to look out the window and saw that my mom's car was gone. She wasn't home! I flipped and again asked my sister if she heard it. She said yeah and then looked out the window and saw that my mom was out, too. We then remembered that she had gone to the supermarket about an hour before. The voice we heard was most definitely my mother's; she has a voice that you could recognize a mile away. So that's ruled out as the TV maybe saying my name. It couldn't be a ghost, because my mom was and still is very much alive. I wasn't hallucinating because my sister heard the whole thing as well as I did, word for word. My theory is that my mom was thinking of us and wondering if my sister and I were okay at home all alone, and that her thoughts were actually conveyed to us somehow.
