Weird Tales
by Caitlin L.
I knew this lady who did my hair when I was 9 or 10 years old. One night she told me she had a run-in with the paranormal. It was this:
She was about 14 and was lying on her stomach on her bed. Her mom was gone with her father, and her brother was at a friend's house for the night. Prior to that, her grandmother had just passed away. So she was reading her book when she felt something or someone sit on the foot of her bed and a voice (like her grandmother's) say, "Don't be afraid and don't turn around." I guess she got scared because she got up and ran out of her room.
Here's another tale she told me, referring to her younger brother:
She and her family had just moved in to a new house during the summer. Her mom asked why he always played near the radiator. He said, "I made a friend. His name is Ryan. He lives in the radiator." So his mother asked, "Why does he live in the radiator?" "Because when his mom got mad at him, she pushed him into the radiator and he burned to death." Later the landlord came by and was asked if this was true. He confirmed it to be true. Getting all freaked out she decided to move.
And here's my tale:
In September of 1996 or 1997, my grandmother had passed and I remember she loved Christmas music. It could be July and she'd have on Christmas music on. So one day I left for school and all my CDs were put away and my stereo was unplugged and, of course, turned off. For the rest of that day until 3:20 p.m., no one was there in the house. However, when I came home, I went to my room and saw a mess. All my CDs were out and on the other side of my room the cases were open or broken, and my Christmas CDs were playing! But I checked my stereo to see if it was plugged in... It wasn't! Also, the CDs were playing as if the stereo was plugged in and it was turned on. So I went down stairs to call my mom and I heard, "Caitlin! Caitlin!" in my grandmothers voice. I got scared, so I ran out of the house to my friend's house then called my mom and told her what happened. She told me to go back home, but I refused to go back in to that house. Even now, I still believe that my dead grandmother's ghost still haunts my room, because before she died we were the closest.
