Grandma Didn't Like Microwave Ovens
by Anonymous

I was very close to my grandma. She died in 1996. She didn't need much and had everything she wanted or needed, so it was difficult to buy her a present for birthdays or holidays. One year, since she didn't have a microwave, I thought it would be good gift for her for Christmas. I was informed Grandma didn't like microwave ovens and not to buy her one.

I inherited her house after she died and did some remodeling in the kitchen. I built a special area for my microwave. The microwave wasn't very old and had always worked perfectly. After a couple months I was awaken by the microwave. It was always around 3 a.m. I'd get up off the couch (were I usually just fell asleep watching TV) go into the kitchen and the microwave would be on, but no time would on the digital screen. I'd open the door and shut it to turn it off. I'd go back to the couch and a few minutes later it would go on again. This happened every so often a couple times a night. After two years, I ended up selling the house and moved in to an apartment out of the area. The same microwave never turned itself on again and is still working fine today; however, I'm still waking up on occasions at 3 a.m. - give or take.

I believe this is my grandma telling me she is still around. She was a great lady and I still miss her.
