Followed from the Cemetery
by Ojie

I've had ghost visitations since I was a teenager. At first, they really frightened me, but my mother confirmed that she had seen the same ghost and that it was just passing through our house and advised me to not be scared because this shade meant me no harm.

Since then I've had several ghostly visitations. One of them was very scary. It occurred in Chinon, France, in 1990. I went into a small cemetery in an historic village close to Chinon. My husband was quite agitated and told me to get out. But I was interested in reading some of the head stones. During my wandering I came upon a fresh grave and was somehow drawn to it. By this time my husband was imploring me from outside the cemetery to come out. He's not superstitious, but he obviously felt something strange because he refused to enter the cemetery himself.

That night, while we were in our hotel room which was not at all creepy, we woke up to the sound of something crashing in the bathroom. There was a terrible stench in the room and it was freezing cold. Upon investigation, we saw that the light bulbs in the bathroom had all crashed into the the sink from their panel on the wall above the mirror.

Then after calming down, we tried to sleep again. About 30 seconds later, something very forceful grabbed me by the shoulders. I screamed and fought it off. Needless to say, we didn't fall back asleep, staying awake for the dawn. My husband told me I looked as white as a sheet and I was definately shaken up.

We stayed another night in the same room, but there was no supernatural visitation.

I'm a very rational person by nature and profession. This (and other ghostly visitations were not dreams. I've always been wide awake when they happen. I have no explanation, other than there is a realm in which restless spirits reside. For those who are sensitive to that realm, for whatever reasons, these experiences are very weird indeed. Go figure!
