Two Ghost
Stories
by Daron S.
I have two ghost stories to tell you. They are both from my friend's dad. He swears up and down that they are true.
My dad's friends is very good scuba diver. One of his jobs he had was to retrieve dead bodies in shipwrecks and other disasters at sea. His job was to locate dead bodies underwater and tie a rope around them so they could be pulled from the water. One night he got a call that there had been a boat that sunk. This was no big deal to him. He was used to the job by now. He met his dive team and they took a boat to the location of the disaster. After a while in the water, they found the boat and swam inside. They split up and he went down a long corridor with rooms on each side. Every door was closed and the hall looked empty. He was taught to go to the end of halls and start there instead of starting from the first room he would see. He made his way down the corridor and finally came to the end. He started to open the door at the end when something caught the back of his eye. He turned around and saw each door was open with victims of the shipwreck in the hallway he had just passed that was empty a second ago. He was shaken but still did his job and recovered all of the bodies. The only explanation he could think of was he created a wake as he walked through the hallway that pulled the corpses outside into the hallway. He told me that is what he tells himself so he can sleep at night.
My friend's dad used to live in an older house with his parents on a road that went from his town to another, so it had a decent amount of traffic. Their house always creeped me out. It had a pool house that was run down with a in-ground pool that had been filled with dirt a long time ago. It also had a small building with a telescope to view stars. One night while he was sleeping, he awoke to hear the doorbell at the back of the house ring. (He knew this because each door had a different doorbell chime.) He thought this was unusual because a normal person would have gone to the front door and rang the door bell there. He began to get out of bed but then he heard someone running from the hallway to his younger brother's room (next to his room), paused, then to his parents' room, paused, then to the back door where the doorbell was rung. He figured his brother must have got up and told his parents and went to the back door to see who it was so he soon fell back asleep. In the morning he asked his brother who was at the door and what happened. His brother looked freaked and replied, "I thought you got the door. You popped your head in my room and went to get mom and dad." They both asked their mom and dad about what had happened. None of them had heard the doorbell ring or anyone get up that night. To this day, they don't know who or what is was.
