Ghosts at Grandma's House
by Amanda E.

About five years ago, my grandmother died. My father inherited her house and we moved into it for a short while to watch over it until we sold it. My father and his two brothers have, to this day, uneasy feelings and strange, phenomenal stories that give them tears and chills when they tell them. A few months after my grandmother died, my brother was using the phone in the living room while no one else was home. His girlfriend on the other end was also home alone. My grandmother always detested anyone using her telephones, even with her grandchildren. My brother is very reliable and was 16 at the time. As he was on the phone, he heard someone pick up the phone. He knew no one was home and this bothered him. Then he heard a woman's voice say, "Matthew, get off the phone!" The voice was familiar. It was my grandmother's!

My brother still quivers when he tells someone of this story. He has had many strange experiences in that home. Another time he was walking down the hall (which was fairly long, with a room on each end and some along the side). He felt someone's presence behind him and turned around to see only a young girl with long, curly hair and her back to him. He instinctively thought it was my eldest brother's girlfriend who fits the description; tiny with long curly hair. The girl was standing near my grandmother's room as my brother was approaching the room at the end of the hall, my father's old room. When he called out her name, she turned around and this is when Matt knew it was not the girlfriend. The girl seemed to be unreal and she was much younger than he had thought. After a few seconds she began to walk toward him. This scared my brother very much because he knew she was not a person and caused him to enter my dad's room and closed the door behind him. Of course after time he opened the door to discover the girl was gone. As Matthew related the story to my dad my dad began to cry. My dad is a very serious person and does not show his feelings very often and when he does it is serious. My only aunt was one of the first cases in Louisiana to be diagnosed with some sort of bone diseases. She was about six and had very long curly hair.
