Strange Encounters

I am currently 18 years old. Over these 18 years, I have seen many strange things, going all the way back to when I was 5:

• Age 5 - Standing in the bathroom, brushing my teeth with the door open. I dropped the tube of toothpaste, and when I bent down to pick it up, I saw something. It was a bout the size of a small primate, and black. It propelled itself by swing its back legs forward, and then moving its arms forward, and repeating. It moved insanely fast, from my room to my mother's. I screamed as loud as I could after it passed. No traces were found.
• Age 11 - In my basement. I was looking through my toy bins and, all of a sudden, I see a little yellow "thing." It had a large head, large almond-shaped black eyes and a thin body. It was about 3-4 inches tall. Then it looked at me, and I was overcome with terror. I screamed, ran to my mother, got a baseball bat, and had her follow me back. It was gone.
• Age 12 - In my basement (no matter how terrifying it is, I'm drawn to it.) Looking out my window, I see a bright glowing disk rising out of someone's backyard, straight up, then it flew toward my local cemetery, which is less than a block and a half away.
• Age 15 - In my basement (again) lying in bed, I see a shadow come across my curtain. A shadow with claws. Once it moved away from the curtain, it was gone.

Why do these things keep showing up?
