I Know What It's Like to Die
by Jean

I know what it's like to die. Once when I was taking some medicine that had to be injected which made my heart beat irregular I had to lay down afterwards, I felt the presence of my grandmother. I can't explain it, but I knew she was there, and she told me I was going to have a heart attack. Sure enough, I did. My heart made this really loud clanging sound like if you were banging a metal spoon on a garbage can lid, and it stopped suddenly, and then I felt a huge sucking sensation on my arm and I was sucked out of my body. All I could think of was, "No, I really don't feel like dying today!"

Then I floated across the room, and there was just this huge sucking sound, trying to pull me somewhere. I resisted as hard as I could, holding onto things. I sat down where I always did, looking at different parts of my body, which glowed! There were things in the air like foam and light. I decided to look at myself in the mirror, and I looked the same as I always did, except I glowed. Was I a ghost? It started to dawn on me that I was dead and I didn't want to be. And where was the tunnel and the bright light at the end? So I began to pray to Jesus as hard as I could. I closed my eyes and next thing I knew I was back in my body. I sat up and went, "WHOA!"...and went straight to the the hospital to get my heart checked but they found nothing wrong with me.
