Psychometry Experiences
by Cheryl O.
I have just got through reading your article on psychometry. All my life I have had psychometric experiences. Most were things that rose at the time and I expressed what I saw and that was just what a person needed to know.... There are two incidences that stand out because of the strength at which I could feel see and hear the experience.
In 1994, I had a near neighbour who often made a comment about herself such as, "The life is being choked out of me." Or as she served dinner she would say, "Don't gag on your veggies," and many other choking or gagging comments. This intrigued me no end. I asked her about it and she said she didn't realize that she did that. I asked if I could do an experiment to discover what the cause of it was. She agreed. I asked for her most prized possession and if she would mind if I simply held it a minute or two. Again she agreed.
Immediately, she slipped her wedding band from her finger and lay it in the palm of my hand. The instant the band touched my skin I could feel myself gagging... something was stuck in my throat and I could not call out for help. This feeling was accompanied by the vision first of a nursing home room from a patients point of view and then from the ceiling of the nursing home I could look down and see an old woman in bed.
I relayed everything as I saw it. The woman immediately began crying and explained to me the wedding band had been her grandmother's wedding band and her grandmother had indeed choked to death in a nursing home on a marshmallow while wearing the band.
The second occasion was a few years later when I had just begun a relationship for the second time with my eldest daughter's father. I was telling him about these abilities I have and he scoffed saying it sound like bollocks to him. So I said he could test me. I must add that never before had I asked someone to test me. He agreed and went to his tool box and rattled around inside. He produced a bottle opener and laid it in my hand. Immediately, I knew he had indeed made the bottle opener, but not at school, rather in a workshop where he worked. I also relayed to him that this was the second time he had owned the bottle opener as he had given it to a now deceased uncle and then retrieved it after his uncle's death... from his uncle's fishing tackle box. I also knew his uncle had died from an AIDS-related illness.
This particular uncle of his I had never met, and although I knew he was dead, it was like a family secret about what he died from. He sobbed heartily and reassured me I was right.
I have always had this ability... as a child I had a plastic almost-full money box that disappeared from its hiding place. Many months later, it reappeared in its hiding place, and as I picked it up I knew which of my sisters had hidden it elsewhere and why she had done it. My psychometry appears to all of my senses and often includes smells and tastes as well as their emotional responses of the former owners of the object.
