$10 Coincidence
by Ramey

This incident happened to me about 12 years ago. My family and I had a beach house in South Carolina and we would go often, especially in the spring and summer months. One Sunday on the way home, we stopped for food at a fast food restaurant. There was a long line of people waiting to order. I took my place in line and waited my turn. I paid for the food and sat down with family members at a table. Before eating, I put the change from a fifty dollar bill that I had paid for the food with in my purse and realized I was missing ten dollars.

After the line had cleared, I went back to where I had been standing to see if I had dropped the money on the floor, but it wasn't anywhere to be found, so I assumed someone had seen it and picked it up.

I forgot about it until one year later. We had been to the beach and again on our way home on a Monday we stopped at the same establishment. I went inside and placed my order and happened to look down and right at my feet lay a crisp ten dollar bill! There was no one waiting in line that day except me. I reached down and picked it up and it dawned on me this is exactly where I lost the ten dollar bill one year earlier.
