The Ghost with the Scarf

I was about 12 or 13 when I was helping my uncle pack to move to Arizona. My younger cousin and another cousin who was my age were also there. There were old toys in his apartment basement that had been there for years, according to my uncle. My uncle told her to go play with them while we cleaned up the kitchen. My mom told us to take a break, so we decided to play a prank on her. We were about to tap on the small window then run away, but we decided to watch her.

Strange enough, she was carrying on a conversation with "air." When she came up from the basement, we asked her who she was talking to. She replied, "The lady with the scarf on her head. She was awfully nice. Those were her daughter's toys when she was younger."

My uncle was the only one living in the apartment. He started renting the apartment from the old lady's daughter; her mother used to live there. She had died just before my uncle decided to look for apartments.
