Coins from Nowhere

In the early '90s, I was living in Ft. Davis,Texas while going to college at Sul Ross State University. Ft. Davis has a rich history of spooky tales because it was founded from the Fort where many battles took place with Indians. I worked as a waitress at The Indian Lodge Resort that was about three miles outside of town. It is a beautiful drive through mountains during the day, but really spooky at night.
On a slow night at the lodge's restaurant, other employees and I kept noticing that the lights kept coming on in a room that was unoccupied that night. We would tell the front desk and they would send one of us to shut it off, but inevitably, the light would keep coming back on. This went on for hours. Since I was not a lifetime resident of Ft. Davis, other employees who were filled me in on some of the town's and the lodge's ghost tales.
Needless to say, I was freaked out because of the stories, but also because of the light in the hotel room continuing to come back on by itself – and my car was parked directly in front of it.
I should mention that I am a complete neat freak and had just washed and vacuumed my car earlier in the day. And after work I would cash in any change that I received in tips into paper money.
As I was driving home (through the mountains, alone) I kept hearing the sound of something metallic falling into the passenger seat beside me, onto the floor and hitting the console and gear shift areas between the two front seats. It was like it was falling from the roof of my car! It was all I could do to keep driving, but I was too afraid to stop and get out of my car in the mountains.
As soon as I came to a streetlight in town, I pulled over and got out. When my interior lights came on, I could see that there was change in the passenger seat, around my stick shift and on the floor board. I was so scared. I know that because my car was vacuumed, nothing could have been shifting and my wallet was zipped shut. And since I don't keep change in my sun visors, I knew I had a "visitor" riding in my car.
I screamed for whatever it was to get out and leave me alone. I was finally able to gather my wits and get back in my car to get home. I never really believed in "ghosts" before that, but that event certainly changed my mind.
