Sensed the Suffering
by Hector

I'm not sure if my experience is paranormal in nature or not. I will allow the reader to decide. When I was only 18 years old, I joined the U.S. military near the end of the Vietnam conflict. I had an opportunity to volunteer for a temporary assignment at Barber's Point Naval Air Station, not far from Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. I'm by nature a happy-go-lucky optimist. The warm sunny weather and relaxed atmosphere of Hawaii made me even more euphoric, until one day when I accompanied some buddies to the movie theater on base. I at once, without any logical reason, became extremely depressed to the point of crying tears. This was not only embarrassing to me, but extremely baffling. I do not consider myself a medium or any such thing and wished to forget about it. A few days later, one of the fellows who was with me said he had learned that the building where the theater is located was one of the places many of the wounded and dying sailors were taken after the attack on Pearl Harbor. This shocked me. I never checked to see if this was true, but I never went near that building again. I always made some excuse not to go to the movies.
