The
Cold Hand
by Stormy Chavera
One night about 24 years ago, I had just finished a shower and was in my nightgown. I was waiting for my boyfriend who was on his way. I was just lying on the bed on my side with just candles for light when I felt something jump on the bed, like when a heavey cat jumps up. Thinking it was my sister's cat Mimi, I did not really give it much thought or attention.
As I lay almost dozing, I felt something slide close to me and then I felt a cold hand – so cold it was almost hot – touch me on the side and run its hand up my arm. I seriously thought I had fallen asleep and that my boyfriend had woken me. When I turned over, I saw that I was alone. I was so scared I couldn't even run or scream. I could see the bedspread slide a little as if someone slid off, but there was nobody there that I could see. I refused to sleep in there anymore, but sometimes I would see a dark form in the corner of the laundry room or the family room. I will never forget that felling of fear or the experience.
