Dead Man Exits
by Dougy
This happened to me five years ago, and to this day it gives me chills just to think about it. I was working at a local hospital and I spent the majority of my time disposing wastes in and out doors, mostly out. One night I had just finished disposing my final waste container for the night, and had decided to hang around out back for a minute when a co-worker happened to walk outside and engage me in conversation.
I was standing facing the entrance / exit doors of the hospital when I saw something I will never forget: A figure walked straight out through the hospital double doors without opening them. It was white, sort of glowing, and entirely featureless. The figure appeared to be dressed in a suit; I could tell by its outline. Then again, I could not exactly see it on the form. I jerked my head to the side of where my co-worker stood (he was partially blocking the view), all at once amazed and terrified at the form. In that instant, it vanished.
I excused myself and walked around to the left of the building, looking to see if it had been some visitor or patient leaving the hospital for the night, but I saw no one. The parking lot and surrounding grounds were entirely empty, except for patient and employee cars. Mystified, I re-entered the hospital, ready to finish my work up, then knock off for the night.
I had temporarily forgotten the incident, until just before I left home for the night. Another co-worker of mine told me that a man who had been admitted in the I.C.U earlier that day had passed away around 11:30, which had coincidently been around the same time I witnessed the glowing figure walk through the double-doors.
