Mum's
Weird Premonition
by Lisa T.
In 1977, 10 years before I was born, my mum and dad hadn't even met, and my mum was teaching at a school in Manchester. She was only in her early 20s and shared a flat with a couple of friends from college. One day, she came home from work, and her friends had gone out for some reason. This wasn't unusual, so she got something to eat and went to her room to read. It was then that she sensed a presence in the room and she looked up sharply. Sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the room was a teenage girl, with dark hair and eyes. She was looking directly at her, not saying anything, just smiling calmly. My mum just stared back for about half a minute or so... and then the girl disappeared.
Apart from the initial shock at seeing a strange girl in her room, my mum always remembered that the strangest thing was that she seemed to know her very well, but she had never seen her before in her life. For the next 20 years or so, my mum always believed that this girl was either a ghost or a figment of her imagination. During this time, she had got married and had two children, myself and my younger brother. It wasn't until I reached my teens that she realized where she knew the girl from. It was me! Somehow, she had managed to see a vision of her first child 10 years before she was born.
It remained a mystery until something happened to me a few months ago that could explain it. One night I was unexplainably tired when I got home from school, so I fell into an extremely deep sleep on the couch. In my dream I was in a bedroom, and there was a young woman sitting on the bed, and - you guessed it - it was my mum! I remember I didn't feel scared at all, just blissfully happy, so I smiled at her and giggled at how shocked she looked. Then I woke up. So that's my paranormal experience. Like I said, I haven't heard of any stories like it, but it'd be cool to here if anybody out there has.
