Our Resident Ghost

In our house we have a spirit living with us and we have seen many things happen while living here. We have been sitting on the lounge and next minute latches connecting doors have lifted by themselves. Also, when my oldest child was a baby, I was sitting at the kitchen table and heard noises out where my father-in-law was sleeping and heard his door open up. Next thing, I looked up and saw a figure of an old man walking toward the door and thinking it was him, I said "good morning" and the spirit just kept walking through the door. My husband has seen a face in our screen door... toys come on by themselves... I hear chairs moving in rooms. Also, my husband said the other week that he thought he saw something walk past the dining room in our kitchen, and by the time he realized it, it had gone.
I have felt something standing over me and terrifying me in the night. My son has felt something in his room and it doesn't matter what room he has slept in, he says the man is scaring him. And he has dreams. He is nearly four. I am very curious as to who the spirit is and why he has invaded our family.
