Casper
and Missing Things
by Ginger
Ever since my near-death when my son was born, I have been able to see things and feel things no one else can see or hear. I have seen everything from hags to angels, lots of angels. The house we live in has, as far as I know, no known history of hauntings or of anyone dying in it because it was relatively new when we bought it.
Things started disappearing and when I asked the kids who was responsible, all of them would say, "Not me." After a while of things vanishing, I said, well then Casper did it. So the ongoing thing was just that – Casper.
One day, after cleaning the house and finding my son's name tag he needed for work, I put it on the TV so I would know where it was as he had to go to work in about an hour and that way I would know where it was at. When he got ready to leave and asked where it was, I said, "On the TV." He said, no it is not. We turned the house upside down and did not find it. After my husband and I returned from taking him to work and walked in the house, the tag was on the TV, just where I had put it.
Again, my daughter was getting ready for work and asked had I seen her comb. I had just put it down on the table before going to the front porch to rest. She and I were the only ones here at the time. She finally found it UNDER her the covers on her bed. We got to where, when we missed things, we would tell Casper to put it back where he found it – and they would show up in the places they were suppose to be.
One day when I was home from work on a much-needed day of vacation and totally by myself after doing the dishes, I sat down on the couch with a cup of coffee. The TV and radio were off and it was very quite. Something caught my eye, and when I looked down the hall, I saw a beautiful little girl come out of my room and go into my son's room. I would say she was about six years old. She had on her Sunday best. A pretty little white and pale pink pinafore, white tights, black patent leather shoes. She had brownish blond hair with a big bow on top of her head with trailing ribbon. She had something like a music box in her hands and was really studying it. She acted like she did not know I was even there.
I said, "So, you're Casper!" I never feel afraid of her. She is so precious and she sure likes to investigate things laying around the house. But as I said, all we have to do is tell her to put it back, and she does.
