Hair of the Dog Ghost
by Beau Kasha

Two weeks ago, my family lost our beloved dog, Nado, in a tragic accident. Nado died so suddenly that none of us had a chance to say goodbye. Not only that, we had him for the last six years, since my oldest son was a baby, so he was like another child to us. We loved that dog more than anything. Nado was half husky, a quarter German shepherd and a quarter wolf. Needless to say, he shed A LOT, constantly. Our house would be covered in white dog hair. After he passed, I made sure to vacuum the entire house, top to bottom, every room, every nook and cranny, so we wouldn't have to look at that hair and be constantly reminded of our loss.

I was sitting in my kitchen today, thinking about Nado, and I said aloud, "I miss you so much, Houndy (that was our nickname for him). I'm so sorry I never got to say goodbye or tell you just how much I loved you." This, of course, made me get all teary, so I walked into the bathroom to get a tissue. When I came out, there was a large clump of white dog hair in the middle of the living room carpet, where just moments before there had been none! I blinked a couple of times, pinched myself, then picked up the hair. When I did so, I felt an incredible sense of peace and love come over me. I'm sure others would say there is another explanation for it, but I think it was our beloved Nado, letting me know he was there and had heard what I said.
