Stumbled into the Future
by Anonymous

I had a time traveling experience in the summer of 1968 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. I was 7 years old at the time, playing alone near the woods in my neighborhood. I decided to take a walk in the woods. It was a 10-minute walk and I was walking through thick bushes or trees, pulling leaves, branches away from my body and face. I notice the leaves were turning color from green to yellow and to orange while I was walking.

When I finally came out of the woods I just stood at the edge of it. I looked ahead and just stared in awe. I felt like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz coming out of her tornado-dropped house staring at the unknown of Munchkinland. That is how I felt just staring at this futuristic type of neighborhood that I had never seen before. I was a little afraid because I did not know where I was. It was beautiful. The roads were extremely shiny and sparkling clean. I could see the sun shining off of it, modern and new looking. The roads were not made out of black tar, but were silver and shiny. It could possibly have been metal of some sort.

The houses were colorful, modern, well-kept up with huge windows and different colored roofs, mainly orange. The street lights were different: straight, clear poles with an upside-down clear bowl on top of the light; I could hear humming in the background. The cars were small and rounded; their colors were florescent green and black trimmed around the car doors and roof.

I did not see any people. I was only there for 5 to 6 minutes, just staring. Then I went back into the woods to go home and told my mom, but she did not listen to me and told me to "stay out of the woods!"

The next day I went back into the woods, to the same location -- and the place was not there. I looked and looked but could not find that future place.
