Kennett Spooklights

I do not have much detailed information, but I know there are spooklights in the vicinity of Kennett, Missouri. I have lived in northeastern Arkansas for quite a few years and have heard numerous stories of hunters, farmers, etc., encountering spooklights. Unfortunately, I was young at the time and did not give these stories any attention, so I can't tell you the exact locations where these sightings happened. I later heard a story that was definitely from the Kennett area. I will tell you the story to the best of my memory.

While attending school at Arkansas State University, I took a special class in local and oral history. One day the professor made an offhanded remark about the Kennett lights. One of the students immediately responded that she had went to high school near Kennett, and had seen them then. She was in her mid-30s, so I assume she must have witnessed the lights in the late '70s or early '80s. She said many of the students in the area would go to this spot on weekends for the purpose of seeing the lights. (I'm sure there were alternate reasons as well.) She only saw the light on one occasion. She and some friends had been at the site a while and decided to leave. As they were pulling out she turned around and saw the light very near the back of the vehicle. As they accelerated, the light followed directly behind them for several seconds, then disappeared.
