Muscular Shadow Man

I was lying in bed one night, tossing and turning because the heater had been cranked up really high. As I rolled over onto my stomach, I caught sight of what seemed to be a silhouette of a rather muscular man, and it looked as if it were looking straight at me! He stood about three feet away, and was surrounded by a dim, orangish glow. Well, the second I caught sight of him, I was immediately filled with horror and revulsion. I can't really explain it... my head ached, my stomach cramped, I became nauseated, dizzy... and completely paralyzed. I found that I couldn't move! The shape leaned over and down toward me, and then suddenly rose to his full height. I now took initiative and spun over to look around, to catch another glimpse of this horror... and saw nothing. But as I lay frozen with fear, I heard faint padding footsteps in the dark hallway. Later on, as I thought back to this incident, I realized that there had been no light source behind the shape to cause the orangish glow, and to completely shroud his features. And how would you explain the instant illness? I couldn't... and never will. I am fairly sure that on that night I saw one of those notorious shadow men.
