Paralyzing Shadow

About one year ago at about 6:00 a.m., I had a weird experience that to this day I can not explain. I was sleeping and awoke to this pain going up my legs starting at my feet and slowly going up my legs. My parents were home and getting ready for work when I tried to ask for help but I could not talk or move. I was paralyzed and speechless for a few seconds which felt like an eternity. The pain went away and I was able to move and speak again. I was freighted by what just happened and could not go back to sleep. I told my girlfriend and she told me that it was probably just a dream. I was not convinced. I truly believe in ghost and spirits and other paranormal type things. 

On Aug. 6, '02, I was at my girlfriends apartment and I was sleeping when I heard this funny noise in the room. I opened my eyes just a little to look around the room to see what this strange noise was when it happened again. This time I saw a dark shadow standing on the end of the bed making that strange noise. The shadow was not of full height. I would say probably 4 ft. or so, and it looked like a human-type figure. I was about to move when the shadow disappeared into my body and once again I was suddenly paralyzed and speechless. I was able to move my arm just tiny bit enough to nudge my girlfriend with my elbow. She said she felt me nudging her, but she did not wake up. I was terrified and was unable to move. While this was happening I was trying to speak and I thought to myself: What if I can't breath? So I relaxed and concentrated on breathing when that same noise I heard in the room came out of my mouth. I was able to speak and move. It's almost like that shadow was in my body and when it left I was able to move and speak again. I woke my girlfriend and told her what happened. She held me in her arms and I asked myself: Why me? What does this thing want? I returned to sleep and awoke to a normal morning.
