Strange Flying Creature

Last week I was just sitting around the house when I decided to start cleaning up. I got the trash out of the garbage can and I took it outside. As I was walking back in, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I quickly turned and watched something fly off over the trees across the street and disappear into the distance. I know what you are thinking: Just another bird. But it couldn't have been. It passed within 10 feet of the roof of my house. The thing was so dark in color that you could barely see the outline of the body. It had a long neck with a small head. There was no outline of any feathers on the wings or body. It was smooth. No tail or tail feathers were visible. And the feet were not visible either. Its wingspan had to be at least six feet. That's how close I was to it. It could have been a goose or crane, but I really don't think so; I see those every day and I know what they look like - and this thing wasn't even close.
