The Stick Figure

This happened to me no more than an hour ago. I was eating some sugar cookies on the stairs (standing up with my back leaning on the wall) and my cat Leo came up cuz he wanted to be petted, so I started petting him. Then I looked up at the mirror above the fire place and saw something black move across it real fast. I dismissed it as some of my hair (I've got long black hair that gets in my face sometimes) and I went back to petting Leo.

When I looked over at the mirror again, I saw a VERY skinny (almost stick figure like) thing on the floor in front of me. It was kind of blurry because I was focused on its head (which only had a tiny hole for a mouth and was guitar-pick-shaped). After I stared at it a bit, not able to move, it made this high-pitched bark noise, like you would hear from a little Yorkshire terrier. I jumped (of course) and blinked. When I opened my eyes, it was gone!

I looked around all over for it, but only found two little Y-shaped "prints" on the carpet about three inches apart. Did I imagine all of this? I couldn't have because of the prints, but I could have because my cat didn't seem to be acting funny. I have been hearing unusual sounds lately, too (little squeaks and rings coming from random points in mid air in certain rooms). At any rate, I don't want to see another again, that's for sure.
