Remote Injuries
by Bill

I normally read in bed until my eyes will no longer stay open and I am almost asleep. On this occasion, shortly after dozing off and in a semi-dreaming state, I became aware of intense toothache in my lower jaw. I remember thinking how ridiculous this was as the tooth had been extracted years ago! In addition, my lower jaw ached and throbbed and my whole face felt swollen and discomfited. Being now almost awake, I also felt the need to go to the toilet. I stumbled half awake to the bathroom. In the bathroom mirror I saw that the side of my face was swollen and that the left side of my top lip was hanging down. The inside of my mouth was also swollen and felt numb.

I was quite shocked at what was happening to me and decided that I must visit the doctor first thing in the morning.

This condition persisted all night, even after waking in the morning. I was beginning to think that I was imagining things and asked my wife to look at my face. She was very concerned that my face was swollen and that my lip was hanging down. After waking up properly, getting up and washing and shaving, my face came back to it's normal self and my teeth and jaw no longer ached. If I hadn't confirmed the swelling and hanging lip with my wife, I would have put the whole thing down to some sort of dream.

Later in the day, my daughter, Olwen, who lives over 240 miles away in Aylesbury, rang to say that my son-in-law, Paul, her husband, had gone for a late night meal to celebrate his friends birthday and on leaving the restaurant both had been assaulted by a group of yobs out to make trouble. This would have been at the same time as my experience the previous evening. Paul had been taken to hospital where Olwen had been to visit him in the morning. She describes his pains and injuries exactly as I had experienced them remotely, and at the same time.

I am now convinced of the paranormal, but have never heard of anyone having had a similar experience.
