The Ghost Knocks Back
by Sara

We were living in an upstairs apartment about 10 years ago. This happened almost the same day each month one time per month. Most of the time it would happen in my parents' room. There would be a light knocking on the wall at about 1 a.m. It would keep knocking just until you get to the site that the knocking is coming from, then it would stop and you wouldn't hear it until the following month.

We lived in the same apartment for a little over five years and in that five years all of the neighbors that shared walls on any side had changed at least once, so we know it wasn't a neighbor. There was one incident that I remember the most. I had got up and went to the bathroom. I never heard anyone else get up, but pretty soon there was a steady knock on the bathroom door. I know it was the bathroom door because the door shook a little with every knock. I thought it was my older brother, so I said just a minute, but the knock continued. I kept saying just a minute, then I got mad because I thought he was trying to play a prank on me, so I started to yell at him. After a few seconds of yelling, my parents' bedroom door opened, the knocking stopped and I heard my dad run down the hall and quickly open the front door. When I walked out of the bathroom, the door handle and the hall right outside were both very cold. I ran to the living room and told my dad that the knocking was on the bathroom door. He looked at me with a blank stare and said that was impossible because it stopped when he opened the door and there was nobody in the hall. There was also nobody outside and no place for anybody to hide. The rest of the night I had a very erie feeling and could not sleep.
