Floating Figure

Around 10 years ago I was living in Millersburg, Michigan and was walking home on New Year's Eve at close to 9 p.m. with my cousin, who was up to visit for the holidays. At the time we were staying with my mother's boyfriend, who had roughly 1,200 acres of land that extended all the way into town. After eating dinner at the Millersburg Inn we started walking home.
When we got about ¼ of a mile out of town my cousin got scared and asked if I had ever seen anyone out there at night. I laughed and said no and continued to head toward home. We got a few hundred feet up the road and received the shock of our lives. A figure appeared out of nowhere, floated into the middle of the road and appeared to look at us. My cousin instantly took off running back toward town. I was so shocked and terrified at what was happening I couldn't even move. After a few seconds of staring, the figure came at me. The figure put its arm out as if it was going to grab me, and finally I took off running back toward town.
Description of the figure: White cloak, floated about six feet above the ground, no visible feet, hands or face. If anyone else has ever seen anything like this please send me an email at zerofill@hotmail.com. My cousin and I have been scared about this since. I am 27 years and he is 25 and we still don't like to talk about what happened that night.
