Dancing Little People
by Lince

Back in 1980 when I was two or three years old, my mom, dad, my then newborn brother and I moved into an apartment in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The apartment had two bedrooms, one facing the other. I slept in one bedroom alone and my parents and brother slept in the other.

Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night, as toddlers do, and that's when I first saw them. I remember I used to call them "the little people." These "little people" would come into my crib and they would dance and jump on top of my legs or float around over me. At that age I spoke clearly and told my mom what I was seeing. Obviously, my mom thought I had an active imagination so she let it slip.

This part I truly don't remember. I'll tell you what my mom told me. One night as she was sleeping in her room she heard a noise that woke her up. She stayed listening for whatever it was that woke her up when she heard me laughing in my bedroom. Back then she always left both hers and my bedroom door open in case something happened.

This night she was with her back to the door and as she turned to see why I was awake, she says she saw what appeared to be half a dozen little lights or orb things flying around me and I was standing in the mattress trying to catch the lights. She told me that she ran into my room and as she went through the door the lights went flying in different directions and disappeared. From then on up until I was 10 years old she never let me sleep alone.

Other creepy things happened in that apartment. An old lady came into my room and sat on a rocker-chair to sing to me, and before my mom moved me into her room my baby brother would sometimes appear in my crib without my mom ever putting him in it. She said she would ask me how he came to be in my crib with me and I would answer her: "Mommy, he flies."

I know this sounds incredible but I'm sure of what I saw and I still remember what happened to me even though I was a toddler back then.
