My Surly
Angel Drives a New Yorker
Twenty years ago I
was coming home from work. It was about 11:30 p.m. on a very cold night. We had
been having extremely cold weather for Ohio that year - sub-zero temperatures
with unreal wind chill. I was driving a 1967 Valiant in which the heater seemed
to quit working and I had to scrape the windshield on the inside with the ice
scraper as I drove so I could see. We lived about 20 miles from work in a rural
area. I was very cold and had not passed another car the whole way home. When I
got about four miles from home and stopped at an intersection, my car quit
running. I could not get it started again. I sat there in the dark freezing and
alone.
I prayed that I would be able to make it to the closest house, which was across a field. I was sure I would freeze to death if I stayed in the car for the night. I was getting my stuff together and about ready to get out when a car came down the other road at the intersection. It was the first car I had seen all night. I started to flash my headlights at him so he would stop. My horn seemed frozen too because it wouldn't work. But the man stopped anyway. He was driving a New Yorker with leather seats and a really warm heater. I ran and got into his car when he stopped. I asked him if he could take me home because my car had stalled. I told him I just lived a few miles down that road and asked if he could drop me off at the end of the lane. He grunted and we took off.
| The
Angels & The New Children of Light
"There is a new 'breed' of humans among us, according to the angels. They are highly psychic, strong-willed, extremely imaginative, and they are here to usher in the new age of peace. These powerful and intuitive people have little tolerance for dishonesty, and they don't know how to cope with pointless discussions or meaningless tasks. After all, their souls elected to incarnate on Earth at this time so that they could teach others about the importance of speaking truthfully and living in harmony. Who are all these
mystery people? They are frequently referred to as 'Children of the Light,'
'Millennium Children,' and 'Indigo Children.' They are people who were
born in the 1980s and '90s, so that they could reach adulthood by 2012,
the predicted time of the new age of peace." |
I was so relieved that someone stopped that I just babbled all the way, and he didn't say anything. When our house was in sight, I told him and he stopped. I jumped out and thanked him for the ride. He grunted again and pulled away. I didn't offer him any money because at that time things were tight and I didn't even have a dollar. I don't remember what the man looked like; I just remembered his car - the New Yorker. He didn't seem very happy about bailing me out of my situation, yet I am sure I would have frozen to death if I had tried to walk across that field. My guardian angel came at the right time to save me.
The other time my guardian angel showed up was when I had another road problem. My car had quit running again when I was on my way home from work. It was in the afternoon and the roads were slick and ice covered. It was drizzling and gloomy. The whole electrical system on my car quit. I had no lights or flashers. It was so slick I couldn't push it off the road very far, so if someone came over the rise in the road there was a real possibility of being crashed into.
I walked up a lane (slipped and fell twice!) and called my husband to come get me and the car. I went back out to the car to wait for him. A couple of cars came and went around me. One guy stopped and I told him that I had help on the way. Then a big New Yorker came from the other direction and pulled beside my car in the other lane. I had been standing at the back of the car waiting on my husband. I went over and talked to the guy to let him know that help was on the way and I appreciated him stopping. While I was talking to him, a car came flying over the rise in the road, almost hit his car and went on rapidly. He made a comment about how crazy folks drive. He suggested that it would be safer for me to stay in the car and wait for my husband. As soon as he pulled away I realized the "crazy driver" whizzed by right where I had been standing. If I had not moved to talk to the angel in the New Yorker, I would have been run over. Soon my husband came and rescued me. Thanks to the angel, there was something left to rescue.
The most interesting thing
about my angel is that he appeared to be a big, hairy motorcycle-type guy. He even
had a black leather Harley jacket in his car. This is the type of person most
folks would be afraid of, but for some reason I felt very comfortable talking to
him. The first encounter with my guardian angel could have led to disaster. It
is very risky for a young woman to flag down a car and jump in. I didn't even
consider the possibilities as to what could have happened if he had not been the
good guy. I was not afraid of him either, even though he didn't talk or act
friendly at all. I was just glad to be saved. It seems like my angel makes me feel
safe even though in other situations I might not be. My husband is the only one
who I have ever told these stories to, and he is the one who suggested that this
was my angel.

My
Angel's Voice
I don't know if this
was a guardian angel helping me or what, but it was so bizarre that I'll never
forget it. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end!
Years ago I worked in a jewelry store. We had a desk where we made repairs, replaced batteries and cleaned rings. On the desk we had a velvet cloth, tools and a glass of water where we rinsed the rings after cleaning them. I decided to clean my own diamond ring and was standing beside the desk using one of the tools, when all of a sudden my diamond popped right out of the setting!
| Suddenly, this voice seemed to speak right in my ear and whispered clear as day, "Look in the water!" |
I had a fit! The lady I was working with and I hunted all over the desk, the seat and all around the floor looking for this diamond. I even glanced at the water and around the tools, but we couldn't find anything! While I was standing there feeling heartbroken, I felt a strange sensation - like a presence right up close to me. Suddenly, this voice seemed to speak right in my ear and whispered clear as day, "Look in the water!"
I freaked. The hair on my neck stood straight up and I had a chill! I grabbed the water glass and looked closely into it, and what did I find? You guessed it, my diamond! I told the other lady everything that had happened, and she believed me. She was very much a believer in the bizarre and supernatural. I know I looked freaked out. I was shaking and had to sit down!
I think about that day a
lot. I have never had anything like that happen to me before or since. I'm a
believer in the supernatural, but I never thought I'd be a recipient of
something that strange! The voice didn't sound harsh or scary. Once I got over the
shock, I realized it was kind of soothing and sweet, but the whole episode
scared the bejeevies out of me!
