Tales of the Ouija
Ouija sessions and séances can be the cause of some very strange experiences. Are they just manifestations of our imaginations? Or should we take the stories presented here as dire warnings?

Ouija: More Than a Game
From The Moving Glass Page
One nice summer day when I was in seventh grade, I saw the Ouija board along with some other games I was putting away. I had been told not to play with it by my brothers and sister, but since I had heard it was neat, I had to try. My friend, who I will not name, was scared at first, but then started to go along with the idea. In my house there is this guest room where we let people sleep if they want to spend the night. I got the Ouija board and we went in there so our parents wouldn't see us playing it. When we got on the board, it was just a game at first, but then I started to notice that the Ouija said some pretty weird things. It would say things we that thought were in a different language and twist its words around. My friend started to notice how weird it was acting also, so I finally asked the question: "Who are you?" It said, MOEFIA ZA. I thought it was from another country and stuff (I was only 11-12 years old) so we kept on playing. We asked when it was born and it said 0 BC. We thought it meant that it was never born. So after asking all those questions, I asked again what its real name was. It said that it was Satan. I started to say the rosary and it sat there and said, DAMN YOU over and over again. We both took our hands off the board and ran outside. Soon I started to forget about what happened when I started to have nightmares. The nightmares and all the haunting has now stopped and sometimes I can feel a warm breeze near me. I believe it is a friend of mine who committed suicide. He was a good friend of mine and still kind of watches over me. Now I am still haunted by my friend that committed suicide, but I don't mind him because he just gets my attention sometimes by turning off my tape player or sending a warm breeze up my spine in my room when nothing could cause wind. I hope to find a way so that he can rest which I am working on now. - C.R.M.

Séance in a Haunted House!
From The Moving Glass Page
It was August 3, 1996 and I invited my friends over to hold a séance. They arrived at 9:00 p.m., so it was my husband, myself and two of my friends. We set the mood by turning out all of the lights and only had candles burning at the table. We sat around for about 30 minutes and concentrated only on the spirits and the house. We then set up two video cameras, one aiming at the table and the other aiming down the hallway. We checked behind each other to make sure the cameras were on and working properly. We selected my husband to be the speaker. It was 10:00 p.m. when we began. We sat around the table, held hands and said a prayer. My husband asked for the spirits of the house to come forth and give us a sign. As he kept speaking, asking for a sign from the spirits, a small ball of light flew from one of the candles up into the air. Then he asked for a spirit to play just one note on the piano. After about an hour, we felt we had no real evidence, so we took a break from the table. We decided to look at the video tape. At the beginning of our tape the picture was full of static and it was very fuzzy. You could hear the sound perfectly. The interference lasted about 10 minutes into the tape and then the picture slowly began to clear. We do feel that something was in the room with us at the beginning of the séance that possibly caused the interference. We began again around 12:00 a.m., with the same scenario. My husband asked again for the spirits of the house to give us a sign. Again, a small ball of light fell downward off of the same candle as before, which we captured on film. Right after the light, two of us (one being myself) heard a very faint tapping noise. For the next hour there was only silence. We broke the session and decided to call it a night. It wasn't until the next morning we knew that we had some concrete evidence. My friends left for home around 1:15 a.m., and that's when I set things up for the night. My hallway has carpet, so first I laid large sheets of flip-chart paper on the hallway floor and set my tape recorder on the floor next to the hallway door, turned it on and went to bed. The next morning I was listening to the tape and all of a sudden I heard one piano key being played and then another. Remember at the séance my husband asked for a piano key to be played. As we listened further we could hear all three of our dogs at the front door barking as though someone they didn't know was there. The barking lasted for several minutes. Then you could actually hear the paper on the hallway floor crunching, as if someone was walking over it. So maybe we did stir something or someone up on the night of the séance because the morning after proved very rewarding to us. We haven't had another séance since that date and my researcher has the original tape recording of the foot-steps. I do still have the original video and I will get the original tape recording back when he is done with it. - sssjjj

Strange Experience with a Demon
From Castle of Spirits:
This all happened around 1990 or so to my second family - friends of mine who I lived with most of the time. The house they live in is very large: some seven bedrooms on the second floor and four rooms in the attic. The second floor has a wooden floored hallway with three rooms on each side, and at the end of the hallway is a mirror from floor to ceiling. The stairs start next to the mirror, going up to the right. My best friend, Jean (French pronunciation) had his room in that hallway, and his sister, a year older, lived in one of the two bedrooms in the attic. We'll call her Gab. I cannot say I saw anything, but I know the events are true. My best friend, the same age as me (13), and I were into chivalry and knights a lot back then and to this day our word is all-important. He has never lied to me, and I never to him. This is how it goes... Gab was upstairs in her room on the third floor with her friend. She had a Ouija board and was attempting to talk to her grandfather who had recently died. She contacted something, and at first he said he was her grandpa, and the two girls started asking questions. It knew intimate details about her house and she was sure it was her grandpa. But when she asked its name (she never said her grandpa's name in the presence of the board) it went to goodbye, end of session. The two girls tried again the next night, and got some interesting answers. They asked if it was Gab's grandpa and it said, HEAVEN. They asked who they talked to last night and it said, RAZZ. They asked who they were talking to now and it said, WARNING. They asked what is the warning and the reply was, STRNTH N NUMBERS (strength in numbers). They were confused, but Gab's friend had the right idea when she said, "Don't ever use this by yourself, always make sure someone is with you." Gab said okay and the girls went to bed... - Rob H.

  • But Gab couldn't stay away from the Ouija, and the result was a terrifying manifestation and other paranormal events. Read the rest of the story here.
