• Miracle mule. A mule in Morocco gave birth to a foal - something thought to be a scientific impossibility.
• Shroud of Turin. New tests on the shroud revealed that it might be genuine after all.
• Crop circles. Matthew Williams, the only man in Britain convicted of making crop circles, made a video to prove they are not the results of alien or supernatural forces.
• Bleeding statue. Worshippers claimed a miracle took place at a Midland temple after the statue of a goddess began to bleed.
• Giant bird in Alaska. A giant winged creature, like something out of Jurassic Park, was sighted several times in Southwest Alaska.
• Art Bell. Radio talk show host Art Bell, whose program featured paranormal topics, announced his retirement due to back problems.
November, 2002
• New dimensions. Physicists devised a new experiment that will be used in the quest for exotic forces in nature and "additional spatial dimensions."
• Loch Ness. The Loch Ness Monster has gone AWOL, according to the beast's fan club. The Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club says there have been only three reported sightings of Nessie this year.
• Apparition. Hundreds of Catholics gathering around an image formed by frost between the sealed panes of a window in the belief it's an apparition of the Virgin Mary.
• Exorcist. Filming began for another Exorcist movie - this one a prequel to the original.
• Harry Potter. As the new film came out, once again certain religious groups resorted to shredding and burning the books.
• Atlantis. The theory that Malta was Atlantis gains acceptance.
• Ghosts. Ghostly noises in a Spanish funeral home were investigated by police.
• Strange place. A small ranch in northern Utah was dubbed "the strangest place on Earth."
• Mystery dust. New Jersey state officials were stumped about the source of an airborne gritty dust falling in a Wayne County community that ruined the finish of vehicles and outdoor furniture.

• Bigfoot hoax. The family of the late Ray Wallace revealed that he was behind many well-known Bigfoot hoaxes.
