“PROPHECIES FOR 2000” > Page 1, 2

July – September, 2000
The Second Coming. Daniel Miller has done some complicated calculations and determined that Jesus will return on September 21, 2000. “There are no fewer than six separate coincidences about that particular future date,” Miller says.

The End of the World. The world will come to an end on Rosh HaShanah, which is September 29 this year, according to Jim Searcy. Jim is covering himself, however, by saying, “If it isn’t Sept. 29, 2000, it will be on a Rosh HaShanah very soon after this date since Israel is back in Jewish hands and that hasn’t occurred since the first century.”

October – December, 2000
Pole Shift. Jeanne Dixon predicted some kind of pole shift in October, saying that the effects would be such that people would think the planet had lost its natural gravitational movement – like an amusement park ride out of control.

Presidential Death Cycle. For the last two centuries, every U.S. president who has been elected in a year ending in zero has died in office, according to Predictions for the Coming Millennium. The most notable examples are Abraham Lincoln (1860), Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1940), and John F. Kennedy (1960). The only exception is Ronald Reagan (1980) who narrowly escaped assassination in 1981. Will whoever is elected in November, 2000 also be lucky enough to escape the Presidential Death Curse?

Another Pole Shift. In 1936, Edgar Cayce was asked, “What great change or the beginning of what change, if any, is to take place in the earth in the year 2000 to 2001 A.D.?” His answer: “When there is a shifting of the poles. Or a new cycle begins.”

Stock Market Reset. Using astrological observations, Predictions for the Coming Millennium says the stock market “must reset itself by the end of 2000,” temporarily putting an end to the current economic growth spurt. But they add that in this time the seed will be planted for another period of growth.

Sometime in 2000
Change in Power. Here’s what Nostradamus had to say about the new millennium: “All things shall be set into a new order of the ages. The new century and millennium will see an opening to a new way. Those who have hidden behind masks of lofty power will be utterly changed. Few will be found who shall remain in leadership.” (Century 11, Quatrain 10)

Chrysler Hovercraft? In a 1966 Time magazine article, futurists predicted that the automobile would be replaced on our highways by personal hovercrafts by 2000.

What a Gas! “Say goodbye to the old-fashioned gas station,” said the editors of the Kiplinger Letters in their 1986 book. “The service station of the 2000s will be neat, even antiseptic, looking something like a credit bureau with gas pumps out front. Most of the bigger ones will be highly automated, equipped with pumps that accept credit or debit cards and print out a receipt.” Well, they got part of that right.

The Second Coming. Several fundamentalist Christian sects believe the new millennium will be ushered in by the second coming of Jesus to Earth, this time to defeat evil once and for all – well, for  1,000 years at least. At Prophecies for the Millennium, they say both Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce support this prediction.

The Aliens Are Coming. Don’t trust those gray aliens, says Robert Hallman. They are the Antichrist and they will implant us with biochips within 24 months of the Y2K computer crash. “Most of the computer network systems worldwide will not be ready for the year 2000,” Hallman says. “This will cause wide spread panic throughout the world” and give these evil aliens the power to run our lives. But there’s a chance of escape through the Rapture which, he claims, will take place on July 7.
