Before You Buy Paranormal Books

There is a growing interest in paranormal phenomena in all of the media, including books. There's some inept stuff out there, however, sometimes thrown together to make a quick buck on the sensational. Don't fall for it. The paranormal needs to be taken seriously, and that means reputable authors who take a thoughtful approach to the subject.

Paranormal Encyclopedias
If you're serious about investigating the many unexplained facets of our world, you'll want to find books that are well-researched and expertly written by people who are respected researchers and editors. You'll want books that avoid the sensational and that provide objective examinations of the paranormal. Just because the subject deals with the unexplained doesn't mean we're not interested in the facts.

True Ghost Stories
If you're like me, you would much rather read true accounts of ghostly encounters than the fictional kind. There are many compilations of such true stories out there, but what should you look for? Seek books that are written by respected authors or reputable editors. You'll also want as much scare for your buck as possible, and that means books with lots of good stories.

Develop Your ESP
What would you look for in a book if you wanted to develop your abdominal muscles? You'd look for a book that contained several practical exercises to help you accomplish that goal. The same goes for ESP powers, which many believe is like a "muscle" in your brain that needs development and training. Several books explain what ESP is, how it might work and, most important, how you can strengthen yours.
