In 1979, my now-ex-wife and I bought a 1920 house in New Britain, Connecticut. We separated and divorced in 1981. Prior to our separation, there was never any strange activity. Since my wife took the bedroom set, I was relagated to sleep on a twin bed.
All was ok for the first few nights, but then things stated to happen.
When I went to bed, I had the distinct feeling of a cat jumping up on my bed and slowly walking toward my head. At first I was taken aback. I turned on the light only to find nothing there. I shut off the light to go back to sleep only to have the feeling of a cat jumping up on my bed and walking toward my headboard.
This started to become a nightly occurance. I did not know what to do. Eventually I accepted the fact that this was the spirit of a cat that for whatever reason chose to sleep with me.
Each night I would go to bed, and within minutes I would feel this cat jump up on my bed and slowly walk toward my head and settle down to sleep. I accepted the fact that thit phantom cat wanted to sleep with me and become my friend.
This went on for about two years, but it stopped as suddenly as it started. Perhaps, the cat finally crossed over to the other side. I will never know.
