This incident took place in November, 2007 in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My Husband and I lived in a tiny two-bedroom home on the outskirts of the city. We had lived in this home for almost 20 years and had our four daughters while living there.
Paranormal occurrences happened often in the home over the years. But the last two years the activity picked up to such an unbelievable amount. The family was in a financial crisis and our world was unraveling quickly. It seemed like the more turbulent things were, the more activity that would happen.
One of the most bizzare things was this little girl who we would hear often. One night our daughters spent the night at their aunt's. My Husband and I were watching TV late when I fell asleep on the couch. He put a blanket on me and turned the TV off and went to bed off the family room.
I woke up hearing my husband coming out of the bedroom and walking down the hall to the bathroom. I thought, I will wait until he comes out and go to bed with him. My husband left the bathroom door open and that's when I heard this little girl's voice coming from the bedroom. She said, "Dad... Where are you?"
I heard my husband trying to stop peeing midstream and he said, "What was that?" I was so shocked, I couldn't answer. My husband came down the hall and into the family room in about two seconds flat. He sat tight next to me on the couch and whispered, "I am scared."
I leaned in to whisper back to my Husband when all of a sudden we both heard the little girl talking very fast and inaudibly. The voice was coming from everywhere but nowhere at the same time. Then it just went silent. It was one of the strangest thing I have ever experienced.
That same voice was heard again shortly before we moved. I was alone one evening. My husband and daughters were out of town for the weekend. I was folding clothes in my daughter's room. I had a litter of puppies at that time and they were sitting at my feet while I put these clothes away.
Then once again in the dead silence of the house I heard the girl say, "Where's Zoey?" It sounded like it was coming from the end of the hall. Even the puppies turned and looked at the door and then slowly looked back at me in confusion. Zoey was one of my daughters who was gone for the weekend.
I couldn't count the times I would be in the basement home alone and heard "Mom" called out from the top of the steps. Sometimes I would answer before I remembered that none of the kids were even home from school yet.
I really felt like this little girl thought we were her family. It broke my heart when we had to move. I made it a point to be the last one out of the house that final day before moving. I stood alone in the house and asked the little girl to please come with us. I told her we were no longer going to be here.
I never heard from the girl again after moving. Each of these times I have told you about happened when our kids were not home; it was winter and the windows were closed up, and no TV or radio was on. So it was not coming from some outside source.
Not less than a year ago, I ran into an old neighbor. She told me the new owners of this home are afraid they and are selling. They asked my neighbors if they knew the history of the place. She said the woman ran to her doorstep one morning in a robe, afraid. She said they see shadows and lights that they cannot explain. So I have a feeling that poor little spirit is still there. It truly breaks my heart.
